Amie & Dan's Documentary Wedding Film at Pimhill Barn, Shropshire

A breezy August day at Pimhill Barn, sixteen years in the making.

August 2026

Amie and Dan have been together since they were sixteen — so by the time they said their vows at Pimhill Barn on a breezy August afternoon, this wedding had been a long time coming. Set at the beautiful Lea Hall estate near Shrewsbury, their day was relaxed, candid, and entirely unfussy — exactly how they wanted it.

Getting Ready at Pimhill Barn

The morning began in the little cottage on-site at Pimhill Barn, where Amie got ready alongside her bridesmaids. It had rained earlier, but by the time everyone was dressed the sun had come through — still breezy, but warm, and it stayed dry for the rest of the day. It was a calm, easy-going morning, made all the more enjoyable working alongside Jamie Caldwell Photography, who was capturing photos throughout the day.

An Outdoor Ceremony with Ollie the Ring Bearer

Amie and Dan chose an outdoor ceremony at Pimhill Barn, and with three camera angles running throughout, every part of it — from their vows to the reactions around them — was captured in a way that came together beautifully in the edit. One of the quietest, most personal moments of the whole day came just before the ceremony: Amie's dad seeing her in her dress for the first time, right before he walked her down. Dan's reaction as she arrived was every bit as special. The couple didn't want a first look, keeping that moment for the aisle instead — and their ring bearer duties were, brilliantly, handled by their dog, Ollie.

Candid, Camera-Shy, Completely Themselves

Amie and Dan were clear from the start: they wanted documentary-style coverage, with as little interference as possible. Dan in particular isn't a fan of having a camera in his face, so the approach throughout the day was to hang back, blend into the background, and let things unfold naturally rather than direct them. It's exactly the kind of coverage we specialise in — real moments over posed ones — and by the afternoon, both Amie and Dan and their guests barely noticed the cameras were there at all.

Speeches, Laughs, and Sixteen Years Together

Speeches came after the meal, with contributions from Amie, Dan, best man Will, bridesmaid Dannie, and family. With a relationship stretching back to when they were sixteen, there was plenty of history to draw on — and the speeches leaned into it, with warm, funny stories about how their relationship unfolded over the years. Lots of laughs, a few surprises, and reactions worth capturing from every angle.

A First Dance to Remember

Amie and Dan had clearly put real thought and practice into their first dance, performing a choreographed routine — complete with lifts and turns — to Chris Stapleton's "Weight of Your World." Filmed on two cameras, it was one of the standout sequences of the day to put together, giving the final edit the coverage needed to do justice to how much work they'd put into it.

A Relaxed Evening Under the Shropshire Sky

As the evening went on, the day settled into exactly the relaxed, candid celebration Amie and Dan had asked for — guests dancing, playing games, and enjoying the evening without a camera being pushed in front of them. Confetti sent the couple back down the aisle earlier in the day, and aerial footage captured over Pimhill Barn will feature in the couple's full wedding film, alongside the complete ceremony and speeches.
